The morning started off as any other, groggily tossing and turning after my alarm(s) went off, cuddles with the dog, getting dressed and heading downstairs.
My wife had made blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast! I got some coffee and sat down to eat as we watched the morning news.
After breakfast I was starting to get up to finish getting ready for the day, and then it happened.
I sneezed…and I hurt myself.
A pop and sudden jolt of pain from below my lower right ribs/upper abdomen. Although it hurt, I pushed through getting myself together and out the door.
I started teaching as usual, and then I had another sneeze, and more pain. I texted admin and told them I think I need to go home. I didn’t want to be seen as skipping work when it was 1) the last day before spring break and 2) my birthday… very sus I know, but seriously, I just turned 40, I’m old, and I hurt myself sneezing. But the pain was too much and I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle the rest of the day at work. So they cancelled music until a sub could arrive, the teacher for the class I was with came and got the kids, and I roughly set up some stuff for other classes to do and went home.
So I went home, called urgent care, which then eventually called me back with a nurse to do an over the phone assessment. I was basically told pain killers and deal with it, and go to the walk in doctor if it gets worse.
Once my wife was done with work, we went to Harrison, a hot spring resort, which was very lovely. I also enjoyed dinner at our favourite German food place there.
The abdominal pain has been getting better, and now on to two weeks of spring break.
Many Happy Returns
